Climate

The Gold Coast autumn is very pleasant.  Most autumn days are sunny with average temperatures of around 16-26ºC (61-77ºF).  See "Dress" below for clothing hints.

Dress

Smart casual wear is appropriate for all occasions with the exception of the Welcome Dinner where the dress code is Cocktail.  Autumn nights at the Gold Coast can be slightly chilly.  Please remember you can get sunburnt even on cloudy days.  Treat the sun and surf with respect.  Wear sun protection year round, a broad brimmed hat, shirt with collar and sleeves and maximum sun screen to exposed skin.

Special diets

Please note that a special diet requirement is when a person chooses to omit certain foods or food groups from their diet on religious, ethical, moral or medical grounds. Provision will be made for food intolerances, Halal and Kosher requests, as well as vegetarian/vegan requests. Please note that requests for non-specific requirements, such as low GI or low fat, cannot be guaranteed. If you have a special dietary requirement, please indicate this on the registration form.

Money

The official currency is Australian dollars. Normal banking hours are Monday - Friday, 9.30am - 4.00 pm. All major credit cards are widely accepted and you may use your credit card to obtain cash from Automatic Teller Machines (ATM).

Registration will be open on the foyer level of the Gold Coast Exhibition and Convention at the following times:

Sunday 23 May 2010 1200 noon - 1730 hours
Monday 24 May 2010 0745 - 1730 hours
Tuesday 25 May 2010 0800 - 1600 hours
Wednesday 26 May 2010 0800 - 1030 hours

Mail and messages

The Conference Managers do not accept responsibility for personal mail. Please have mail sent to your accommodation address. A message board will be located near the registration desk. Please advise potential callers to contact the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre (telephone + 61 (0)7 5504 4000) and ask for the Poultry Information Exchange 2010.  Messages cannot be delivered personally.

Registration cancellation policy

Registration refunds will be given for any cancellations made more than one week prior to the Conference.  There are no refunds on cancellations made less than one week prior to the conference, all other cancellations will incur a 10% surcharge.  Delegates unable to attend are welcome to send an alternative delegate.  Accommodation refunds must be negotiated directly with the hotel.

Payment

All prices are in Australian dollars and inclusive of GST. Payment may be made via:

  • Cheques or bank drafts - payable to PIX Association, in Australian currency
  • Drawn on an Australian bank and free of all charges
  • By credit card (Visa / MasterCard / Amex – Amex payments attract a 2% surcharge).
  • or via EFT/Direct Deposit (see details below)

Payment must accompany your registration form.  Conference registration cannot be confirmed until payment is received.   Please return registration forms by e-mail, fax or post.  If e-mailing, please ensure you send a PDF copy of your registration details.  Credit card information is forwarded at your own risk.

Your name and contact information may be used by the Conference Manager and other approved stakeholders such as the host body and sponsors, in connection with promotion, networking, revenue raising and administration of this event and future events of this type.
