General Information
ClimateThe Brisbane winter is mild and very pleasant. Most winter days are sunny with average temperatures of around 12-23ºC (54-73ºF). See "Dress" below for clothing hints. DressSmart casual wear is appropriate for all occasions. Winter nights in Brisbane can be chilly so we suggest you bring a warm jacket for outdoor activities. Special dietsPlease note that a special diet requirement is when a person chooses to omit certain foods or food groups from their diet on religious, ethical, moral or medical grounds. Provision will be made for food intolerances, Halal and Kosher requests, as well as vegetarian/vegan requests. Please note that requests for non-specific requirements, such as low GI or low fat, cannot be guaranteed. If you have a special dietary requirement, please indicate this on the registration form. MoneyThe official currency is Australian dollars. Normal banking hours are Monday - Friday, 9.30am - 4.00 pm. All major credit cards are widely accepted and you may use your credit card to obtain cash from Automatic Teller Machines. ElectricityAustralia uses a 240v current with 3-pinned plugs. At the ConferenceRegistration will be open on the foyer level of the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre at the following times:
Mail and messagesThe Conference Managers do not accept responsibility for personal mail. Please have mail sent to your accommodation address. A message board will be located near the registration desk. Please advise potential callers to contact the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre (telephone + 61 (0)7 3308 3000 (or 1800 063 308 within Australia) and ask for the World's Poultry Congress. Messages cannot be delivered personally. Registration cancellation policyAll cancellations must be notified in writing to Event Planners Australia. Cancellations received prior to 29 February 2008 will be refunded less a handling fee of AUD120. Cancellations received on or after 1 March and prior 29 May will receive a 50% refund of registration fees paid. No refunds will be paid for cancellations on or after 30 May. If you cannot attend, your registration may be transferred to another member of your organisation. Please note that registration refunds will not be granted based on inability to obtain a visa to enter Australia - if delegates are unsure of their ability to obtain a visa we recommend they investigate travel insurance. Payment must accompany your registration form. Conference registration cannot be confirmed until payment is received. Payment must be received by the due date to receive the discount, otherwise the next level of payment will be charged. Also, please note accommodation cannot be booked until a deposit of at least one night's tariff or credit card details are received by the Conference Managers. Details of the Conference bank account for electronic funds transfersPlease ensure that the amount transferred is equal to the total due, and that any bank charges are covered separately. To assist in the allocation of your payment, please fax transfer form to +61 7 32527142 immediately after payment to ensure prompt allocation of your payment. Please ensure that your name and organisation are included on the transfer notice.
Privacy and SPAM statementYour name, organisation and country/state of origin may be published on the delegate list which is provided to delegates at the event. Your name and contact information may be used by the Conference Manager and other approved stakeholders such as the host body and sponsors, in connection with promotion, networking, revenue raising and administration of this event and future events of this type. We intend to communicate with you via email from time to time in relation to promoting and managing this event and future events of this type.
