XXIII World's Poultry Congress (WPC2008)

The WPC2008 scientific and technical program will cater for all levels and specialties within the diverse poultry industry under the following themes: welfare, husbandry, and the environment; nutrition and feed technologies; processing and product safety; economics and marketing; education and extension; genetics and breeding; other species; small-scale family poultry farming; physiology and endocrinology; and management.

6th Asian-Pacific Poultry Health Congress (6APPHC)

Tuesday 1 - Friday 4 July 2008
Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre

6APPHC is the forum for the main poultry health and disease stream with the theme: From Pasteur to Genomics: Past, Present and Future Control of Poultry Disease. Sessions will be based around the most economically important diseases of poultry and will include major control success stories as well as challenges for sustainable control and how researchers are addressing these challenges. Highlights will be sessions on avian influenza, and control of necrotic enteritis in broilers without reliance on antibiotics.

4th International Ratite Science Symposium (4IRSS)

Tuesday 1 - Friday 4 July 2008
Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre

4IRSS is dedicated to ratite species (ostriches, emus, rheas, cassowaries and kiwis) covering reproduction, genetics, incubation, nutrition, growth and development, health and welfare, and conservation. Each plenary session will be presented by an invited keynote speaker highlighting up-to-date knowledge on captive bred, wild ratite species and challenges facing ratite science, the industry and governments. Papers and posters on all aspects of ratite biology, farming and conservation will also be presented. The Symposium is planned to conclude with industry workshops.

Pure Breed Poultry Breeders

Thursday 3 - Friday 4 July 2008,

WPC 2008 will include programs specific to the needs of Pure Breed Poultry Breeders. The Stud Breeders and Exhibitors Committee of the World Poultry Science Association are planning intensive training days on Thursday and Friday during the Congress. These programs will include a range of topics aimed at developing a new level of technology and understanding to those who are the custodians of our precious pure breed flocks. The programs will make available the expertise of world class scientists and technologists who have specialist knowledge and experience in pure breed poultry.
