Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre
Monday 30 June - Wednesday 2 July 2008
An Australian Poultry
CRC and Queensland Poultry Industries Initiative
The key characteristic of the conference is a focus on 'information exchange',
facilitating a two-way flow of information of practical relevance. Over 39 years
this philosophy has made PIX the premier Australasian poultry industry conference
for people working in or serving the production sector of the industry. PIX is
renowned for the camaraderie amongst its delegates.
The themes of the PIX conference will specifically cater for the needs of farmers
and personnel from meat chicken, egg and breeder farms, hatcheries and processors
as well as people from the service industries (housing, equipment, drugs, chemicals,
feed, premixes, government research and extension). Speakers will focus on issues
of direct application on the farm. We ask our speakers to be conscious of the
audience and present technical and scientific information in a simple non-scientific
style.
The program will include two days of general, meat chicken, egg industry and
alternative (barn and free-range) production systems sessions, as well as workshops
on breeder and hatchery management, post mortem of poultry. These will be followed
by a full day tunnel ventilation workshop.
In 2008, PIX will be held in conjunction with the World's
Poultry Congress. This will give delegates the unique opportunity to view
both the PIX and WPC trade exhibitions at the largest gathering of poultry industry
personnel, scientists and producers yet seen in Australia.
PIX2008 aims to:
- provide an environment which encourages people to participate in discussion
and exchange information on technical developments, issues and ideas which have
practical significance to the poultry industry.
- encourage the effective presentation of information in the form of spoken
papers, prepared papers, trade displays and demonstrations.
- promote fellowship amongst people whose common interest is in the poultry
industry.
At the PIX2008 Trade Exhibition on Monday afternoon, Tuesday and Wednesday
you’ll be able to examine the latest equipment, products, technology and
services available to the poultry industry.
The social program will let you catch up
with colleagues at the Welcome Dinner on Monday night, unwind at the PIX Dinner
with entertainment on Tuesday night and start Wednesday in the best of ways at
the Poultry Industry Breakfast. Lunches will be in the trade display area.
The Australasian Turkey Federation is holding a one-day
workshop following PIX on Friday 4 July 2008. |
